By far the best dinning I’ve had in Washington DC. We had our NEA Director dinner there and it was absolutely incredible! The food was delicious—every single dish was bursting with authentic Filipino flavor, and our group could not stop raving about it. The ube bread pudding was a standout—so rich and satisfying! The service was equally impressive—attentive, kind, and welcoming. We were especially touched when the owner/chef personally came out to greet us. You can feel the pride and love in every part of this place. I will definitely be back!

Purple Patch was highly recommended by a friend so I had to check it out for myself! I stopped by with a friend and we really enjoyed both the meal and the overall vibe of space. The restaurant has a very intimate feel. It's tucked slightly underground and set up kind of like a shotgun house: long, narrow and cozy. When you walk in theres a bar immediately to the right and as you move further in, there is more dining space. It's a very snug space so you'll be fairly close to others who are dining. One thing to note is that some of the hot dishes come out sizzling so there's a fair amount of smoke that hangs in the air. It didn't bother me and can add to the drama and character of the space so just something to be aware of. Service was warm and welcoming so no complaints there!. The staff was attentive and friendly which made for a great experience. We tried a bunch of things off the menu. We started with the Mama Alice's Lumpias and the Purple Patch wings and both were pretty tasty. The Purple Patch beef sliders where also solid. For my main, I had the coconut curry chicken with rice which was pretty good but I found myself wanting a bit more flavor to make it stand out for me. To finish things off I had the Ube Cheesecake. You really can't go wrong with ube! It complimented the meal well. Overall while nothing we had blew me away everything was good! It was a enjoyable experience and I will definitely go back to try more items on the menu. And the prices were really good for DC. I can definitely see why Purple Patch has a loyal following.

I’m always very excited to try Filipino restaurants when I visit different cities. With this being rated so high, my expectations were up there. I thought the lumpia was okay. It was good, but nothing extraordinary. If anything, I’d say it was authentic. The same could be said for the pancit dish we ordered. It tasted exactly how I expected it to be, and I was pleased with it. Up to this point, I was decently pleased with the meal. Next was the ginataan. I was very disappointed in this dish. This is one of my favourite Filipino foods and I thought the squash and beans were way undercooked. The vegetables were still quite hard and tough to eat. I also thought the service when I was there was subpar. Our waitress seemed very all over the place and food was being brought to the wrong table on numerous occasions. I thought the restaurant itself looked nice and it was clean. It was also quiet enough to have conversations which was nice.

The food at Purple Patch was really delicious and the desserts are a real success and delicious, with surprising flavors. The attention is friendly, although sometimes a little scattered. In general, it is worth the experience for its unique gastronomic proposal.

I keep coming back to Purple Patch because their Filipino classics are consistently flavorful, especially the lumpia and sizzling sisig. The vibe is warm and inviting, a perfect spot for casual dinners or weekend brunch. The owner, and her team create a genuine sense of hospitality. A bit pricey, sure, but the quality, passion, and authenticity make it absolutely worth it. Purple Patch is one of my favorite places to go when I want food that’s both comforting and exciting.

We haven't been back in nearly a decade. It doesn't even compare with the last experience. It was definitely more flavorful and authentic this time around. We had the lechon with crab fat, pan de sal sandwich with beef tapa and egg, Bicol express pork, garlic fried rice with egg, and their burger with the pan de sal bun. Adding crab dmfat on anything made a big difference. We enjoyed most of the dishes except the Bicol express. Will definitely return to try other dishes on the next visit.

Went here with a group. I had a small dog and it was raining. Couldn’t eat indoors so we ate outside and it was freezing. The heat lamp took a while to work and it was still freezing. The food was good. Vegan and gluten free options. The vegan Laing was good. Staff was nice. Just wish we could’ve eaten inside. Otherwise the food was good. Will come back another time. The staff was helpful with question. Our server made suggestions and ate the food on the menu which was helpful. I want to suggest the bigger heat lamps and not the hanging ones. Price was comparable to food in New York. Decent portions that you can share. Will be willing to try other things next time.

Lovely experience, from the quick service to the delectable food, I will be thinking about this meal. We got the spicy chicken wings, the something sweet mocktail to start which were both delicious, the chicken was juicy and full of flavor and came very fast. I got the spicy adobo fried chicken entree and my friend got the ginger pork belly pancit which did not disappoint and came in large portion sizes, we both ended up with leftovers. Finally we had to try the ube bread pudding with ube ice cream and not a crumb was left. Absolutely amazing meal and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Just make sure to make a reservation beforehand.
